Six Thousand years of History of Irrigation in Sindh

write-up by Hisam Memon

I have not seen such as a man throughout the Sindh, as Saeen M.H Pahnwar Sahib (BORN1925 DADU AND DIED 21 APRIL 2007) was...... if our people go through his books like "Chronological History of Sindh" which was published by "Sindhology" and has recently been translated by Umar Soomro and "Six Thousand Years of History of Irrigation in Sindh" which has been published by Culture and Tourism department sindh recently. The compiler is Umar Soomro while the son of M.H Panhwar Mr.Sunny Panhwar took great interest to get that book published (the books is posthumously published).

We need such type of history, literature and scientific works; it is my firm belief, this type of thing will bring great change in our society and Sindh. Even writers, journalists, researchers, students and laymen should read this book and spread the message, what Induds Valley civilization [IVC] contributed in irrigation and what are the different phases and history of irrigation in the country of Sindh. (Sindh was country and became province of Pakistan in 1947)

I have gone through some Ph.D theses on different subjects, those look very meager before Saeen Panhwar's works. Those who know English how to read and understand English language should go through this book. I endorse, no such book has been written, compiled, written or published in the written history of Sindh yet.

Let us pay great homage to Saeen Panhwar Sahib, who did this all for Sindh and Sindhi people.

I feel glad that I had met Saeen Panhwar Sahib at his home Latifabad, Hyderabad along with Tariq Qureshi and Allah Bux Rathore some 10 years ago (at least)
